Life Update!

Kia ora everyone. Just a quick post to update you on my institutional move to Massey University, and my physical relocation to Palmerston North, New Zealand. You can see a bit of my cycle commute in the image! This is a permanent move. For the first five years, I will be research only as part of my Rutherford Fellowship. My project is called Transitioning to caring economies through transformative community investment. I’m recruiting PhD (1) and Masters students (2). Find out more here.

You may also be pleased to know, after years of posting my failures and commitments to revising, that I submitted my book manuscript in November 2022. Hurrah! Of course, I’m now playing catchup with all my other commitments, including the 4th edition of Introducing Human Geographies, co-editing with Paul Cloke, Mark Goodwin, Junxi Qian and Andrew Williams.

In 2023, I will again be teaching the face-to-face Aotearoa version of the Postcapitalist Possibilities Summer/Winter School (sadly, winter for us here in Aotearoa) in Palmerston North. At least it will be good weather for hunkering down to do some reading.

I have also launched bookable times for consultations/coaching and some pricing for running writing retreats, under the services tab on the website. This is a bit of an experiment to help me put some boundaries around the kinds of mentoring work I do for people outside my usual networks. I look forward to hearing more from you, as always.
